Mentoring
As a first generation, low-income student, I often sought out mentors to help me navigate the academic world. However, I still had to learn a lot on my own. Academia is full of unspoken expectations and hidden resources. I want to help others and provide them with the tools and resources that have been helpful to me during my academic journey.

Throughout my time at UCI, I have been heavily involved in the History Graduate Student Association. Through my work with the organization, I have pushed for better communication between students and the department, more funding opportunities for students during the COVID-19 pandemic, and spearheaded efforts to improve the lives and well-being of graduate students in the department.
